On 9 June 2021, the Victorian Government announced the first safe steps out of lockdown. The following settings apply to Metropolitan Melbourne from 11:59pm Thursday 10 June:
The five reasons to leave home no longer apply.
Stay within 25km radius of your home.
Masks are mandatory and must be worn indoors and outdoors.
You should continue to work from home if you can.
No visitors to your home.
You can now gather outdoors with a maximum of 10 people.
Schools return to face-to-face learning for all students.
Cafes, restaurants and pubs will reopen with density limits and QR codes in place.
Retail and beauty care will also reopen with masks and QR codes mandatory.
