On 23 June 2021, the Victorian Government announced the further easing of restrictions just in time for school holidays. The following settings apply to Metropolitan Melbourne from 11:59pm Thursday 24 June:
The five reasons to leave home no longer apply.
25km travel limit has been lifted.
Masks must be carried at all times and must be worn indoors. Masks are no longer required outdoors where you can maintain social distance.
You should continue to work from home if you can. Office work has increased to 75% or up to 30 people which every is greater. Masks are still required in workplaces.
Permitted to have 15 visitors to your home.
You can now gather outdoors with a maximum of 50 people.
Face-to-face learning for all school students.
Cafes, restaurants, pubs, retail, beauty care, gyms, entertainment venues remain open with density limits and QR codes in place.
Increase limits for funeral, weddings and at hospitality venues.
Travel to regional Victorian Alpine Resorts is permitted. It is recommended that visitors have had a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departing Melbourne.
