Important COVID-19 Update

Due to new COVID-19 cases in Victoria and numerous exposure sites the Victorian Government is acting early.  Effective from 8pm Thursday 5 August 2021 the following restrictions apply to all Victorians:
Stay home unless shopping for essential goods, permitted work, care or caregiving, to get vaccinated and to exercise for up two hours and with one other person. Stay within 5km radius of your home. Masks are mandatory and must be worn indoors (except in your own home) and outdoors at all times. Private and public gatherings are not permitted. Single person bubbles and intimate partner visits are allowed. If you can work from home, you must work from home. Childcare and Kinder remain open but schools will return to remote learning. Supermarkets, food stores, bottle shops, banks, petrol stations and pharmacies will also remain open. Shopping is limited to one person per day, per household. Cafes and restaurants will be able to offer take-away.

On 27 July 2021, the Victorian Government announced the further easing of restrictions.  The following settings apply to Victoria from 11:59pm Tuesday 27 July:
The five reasons to leave home no longer apply. 5km travel limit has been lifted. Masks remain mandatory and must be worn indoors (except in your own home) and outdoors at all times. You should continue to work from home if you can. Office capacity limit is 25% or up to 10 people which every is greater.  Masks are still required in workplaces. Visitors to the home are not permitted. You can gather outdoors with a maximum of 10 people. Return to face-to-face learning for all school students. Cafesrestaurants, pubs, retail, beauty care, gyms, entertainment venues open with density limits and QR codes in place. On 23 June 2021, the Victorian Government announced the further easing of restrictions just in time for school holidays.  The following settings apply to Metropolitan Melbourne from 11:59pm Thursday 24 June:
The five reasons to leave home no longer apply. 25km travel limit has been lifted. Masks must be carried at all times and must be worn indoors.  Masks are no longer required outdoors where you can maintain social distance. You should continue to work from home if you can. Office work has increased to 75% or up to 30 people which every is greater.  Masks are still required in workplaces. Permitted to have 15 visitors to your home. You can now gather outdoors with a maximum of 50 people. Face-to-face learning for all school students. Cafes, restaurants, pubs, retail, beauty care, gyms, entertainment venues remain open with density limits and QR codes in place. Increase limits for funeral, weddings and at hospitality venues. Travel to regional Victorian Alpine Resorts is permitted.  It is recommended that visitors have had a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departing Melbourne.

On 16 June 2021, the Victorian Government announced the further easing of restrictions.  The following settings apply to Metropolitan Melbourne from 11:59pm Thursday 17 June:
The five reasons to leave home no longer apply. 25km travel limit has been lifted. Masks must be carried at all times and must be worn indoors.  Masks are no longer required outdoors where you can maintain social distance. You should continue to work from home if you can. Office work has increased to 50% or up to 20 people if total workplace is 40 or less.  Masks are still required in workplaces. Permitted to have two visitors to your home. You can now gather outdoors with a maximum of 20 people. Schools return to face-to-face learning for all students. Cafes, restaurants and pubs will reopen with density limits and QR codes in place. Retail and beauty care will also reopen with masks and QR codes mandatory. Additionally businesses like gyms and indoor entertainment venues permitted to reopen. Travel to regional Victorian Alpine Resorts permitted providing visitors have had a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departing Melbourne.

The five reasons to leave home no longer apply. Stay within 25km radius of your home. Masks are mandatory and must be worn indoors and outdoors. You should continue to work from home if you can. No visitors to your home. You can now gather outdoors with a maximum of 10 people. Schools return to face-to-face learning for all students. Cafes, restaurants and pubs will reopen with density limits and QR codes in place. Retail and beauty care will also reopen with masks and QR codes mandatory.

Stay within 10km radius of your home. Masks are mandatory and must be worn indoors and outdoors, except in your own home. Private and public gatherings are not permitted.  Single person bubbles and intimate partner visits are allowed. Childcare and Kinder remain open. Schools will continue remote learning with the exception of year 11 and 12 students who will return to campus on Friday, 4 June. Supermarkets, food stores, bottle shops, banks, petrol stations and pharmacies will also remain open. Shopping is limited to one person per day, per household. Cafes and restaurants will be able to offer take-away.

Important COVID-19 Update

In accordance with Victorian Government guidelines the following restrictions are in place to (at least) 4 June 2021 and apply to Greater Melbourne and those travelling from Greater Melbourne to regional areas. The rules also "follow" people leaving metropolitan Melbourne to wherever they're visiting.
Masks must be worn indoors unless there is an exemption. This applies to everyone 12 years and older and includes workplaces.
Private gatherings in the home are limited to (5) five visitors per day.
Public gatherings are limited to 30 people.  NOTE: Activities hosted at venues with COVID-safe plans can continue as they were, but with masks if they are indoors.  If you attend a public gathering outside of Greater Melbourne, it must not be bigger than 30 people.
